Condensation is the result of the interplay between the amount of moisture present in the air, and differences in temperature between the air and the surfaces and fixtures with which it comes into contact.
Condensation occurs when moist air is cooled by any surface that is colder than the dew point of the air – such as a cold iron pipe. The moisture in the air gathers on the cold object.
