  3. Designing wind turbine dry-air strategy

What corrosion class can I achieve in my wind turbine with a CWO (adsorption dehumidifier) installed in the turbine under good sealing?

With the right Cotes dry-air solution in your wind turbine, you are able to comply with lower C3 or C2 corrosion standards rather than a higher C5 or C4 corrosion standard, saving up to 50% on component costs.

Without the right dry-air solution in your wind turbine you face issues like:

  • Humidity gives rise to uncontrolled mould growth
  • Mould is not allowed in working environments
  • Health-hazard gases get trapped and accumulate
  • Up to 25% of all faults are directly or indirectly caused by the corrosive combination of airborne humidity and salts
  • Compliance with ISO 9223 corrosion class C4 or C5 will be needed
