Cotes has recently relocated its office from the harbour at Aarhus Ø to the district of Viby J, marking a new milestone for the company. This change was motivated by the company’s growth, which called for a larger area to accommodate more employees.

In line with our commitment to eco-friendly practices, the strategic move to the new office in Viby J optimises operations and embodies Cotes' dedication to sustainability, continuing to serve our clients effectively. Looking ahead, 2040 will mark a significant achievement for Cotes as we aim for the big ZERO, achieving net-zero across all scopes and solidifying our environmental responsibility.

Viby J, located in the vibrant city of Aarhus, stands out as a remarkable example of a green area that has been attracting business. This has made the area home to a number of eco-friendly businesses and organisations that champion green practices and forge a path towards a carbon-neutral future.

The strategic location of Cotes new HQ offers the added benefit of reduced commuting time for employees, minimising the time spent stuck in traffic due to the high flow of vehicles entering and exiting the city of Aarhus. Furthermore, it provides the opportunity for more employees to cycle to work, promoting a healthier and more eco-friendly mode of transportation. Altogether, this contributes to notable fuel savings in the long term.

At Cotes, the decision to invest in sustainable furniture for our new office space was self-evident. By collaborating with an experienced interior designer, we carefully selected long-lasting sustainable furniture to continue working towards minimising our carbon footprint,  reducing waste, and endorsing responsible manufacturing practices

For example, our unique conference table is crafted from FSC-certified oak wood, which is locally sourced from the forests on the Danish Island of Funen. By keeping the manufacturing process close to home, the Danish craftsman workshop minimises transportation emissions and contributes to the reduction of carbon footprint. This decision not only benefits the plant but also supports our local community and economy. Every piece of furniture has been carefully selected to ensure its sustainable impact is taken into consideration.

Recycling is actively practised throughout our new office, now conveniently located closer to our employees. This proximity makes it easier for them to participate in our recycling efforts, which is an integral part of our operations. Moreover, our dedicated Cotes Ambassadors have implemented a comprehensive recycling program that educates and encourages all employees to participate. The strategic placement of recycling bins has further facilitated the separation and proper disposal of recyclable materials, ensuring a seamless and efficient recycling process.

"Recycling is not just a responsibility, it is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment and contribute to a more sustainable future." - Martin Brøchner-Mortensen, the CEO of Cotes.

The plants that adorn our workspace have become cherished office companions, and each has been bestowed with its own name. Their presence breathes life into our office, contributing to a harmonious and vibrant atmosphere. Their unique names add a personal touch to our workspace, reminding us of the importance of nurturing and appreciating the wonders of nature in our daily lives and indoors.
