    The C35C is part of the Cotes Cold Store product family — adsorption dehumidifiers developed specifically for humidity control in refrigerated and frozen storage environments.

    Cold stores are exposed to continuous moisture ingress through door openings, air exchange and product handling. When humid air enters low-temperature environments, moisture quickly condenses or freezes on cold surfaces.

    The C35C removes moisture from the air before condensation or ice formation occurs, helping stabilise the internal climate of cold storage facilities.

    Unlike refrigeration systems, which primarily control temperature, the C35C uses adsorption dehumidification to control the dew point of the air, reducing condensation and ice formation inside refrigerated environments.

    Explanation of Naming

    The product designation follows Cotes naming logic:

    • C – Cotes adsorption dehumidifier platform
    • 35 – Capacity class within the product family
    • C – Cold Store application variant

    The Cold Store designation identifies units optimised for low-temperature environments rather than configurable Modular installations.

    Although based on the same core adsorption technology as the Cotes Modular platform, Cold Store units are delivered as dedicated, pre-engineered configurations rather than modular systems with add-on modules.

    Why is dehumidification needed in cold stores?

    When humid air enters a cold environment, moisture condenses or freezes on cold surfaces. This leads to ice formation, slippery floors, reduced cooling efficiency and increased defrost cycles.

    Dehumidification removes moisture before condensation or ice formation occurs.

    Refrigeration systems primarily control temperature. Moisture control in cold environments depends on the dew point of the air, which cannot always be managed through cooling alone.

    Adsorption dehumidifiers reduce the dew point of the air and therefore prevent condensation and ice formation.

    Excess humidity in cold stores can lead to:

    • ice formation on floors and equipment
    • reduced evaporator efficiency
    • increased defrost cycles
    • safety hazards for personnel
    • product quality issues

    Controlling humidity helps stabilise the cold storage environment.
